nVidia has released a new set of stable drivers for the nVidia GeForce GTX 600 series and the new nVidia GeForce 780, inside and outside of SLI configurations.
For single-card configurations, Deus Ex: Human Revolution has seen a 4% performance increase at max settings, and so has F1 2012. Metro 2033 and Far Cry 3 offer 6% performance increases, at High and Max Settings, respectively. Tomb Raider sees 10%+ performance increases at higher settings, while Starcraft II receives almost 9% at max and Skyrim, Sleeping Dogs, Hitman: Absolution and Shogun 2 receive a mere 3%.
With this Stable update, SLI performance has been increased. Battlefield 3, BioShock Infinite, Just Cause 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Far Cry 3 offer sub-6% increases. Around and above 10% performance increases included Assassin’s Creed III, Civilation V, Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, Starcraft II, Skyrim and Tomb Raider.
SLI Profiles have been added and updated for Alien Fear, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Remember Me, Resident Evil 6, Dead Island: Riptide, Dragon Sword, GRID 2, Human Head 2, Natural Selection 2, Neverwinter, Resident Evil 6, The Walking Dead: Survivial Instinct and Trackmania 2: Canyon.
The GTX 600 series, as well as the GTX 780, are high-end graphics cards, and graphics cards are used for everything displayed on your screen. For people looking for smooth gaming performance and high-quality content playback, the latest graphics cards and drivers are a must. The stats above are for the GTX 680 — however, improvements can be seen across all cards in the 600 line, such as the GTX 660 and GTX 670, in addition to the GTX 780.
Drivers are a set of instructions used to relay information between the parts of your computer. Driver updates are important, because they usually help increase performance, add new features, and get rid of problems that may have arisen with the previous versions. While users less familiar with computers may have trouble fishing around for drivers, we have a simpler method below. Otherwise, you can find these drivers through Windows Update or at nVidia’s website.
To simplify the process of updating drivers on your machine, download our Driver Reviver software. Please note that we only support stable drivers — like the one featured on this page. nVidia frequently posts beta, or prerelease drivers, and while we do cover them on our blog, we don’t include them in Driver Reviver.
