Why wait for the Start Menu to come back to Windows 8? Start Menu Reviver 2 is available today!

At the BUILD conference last month Microsoft gave a glimpse of the Start Menu that will finally come back to Windows 8 some time in the next year. This got a lot of people excited because the lack of Start Menu has been one of the biggest annoyances for people who upgrade to Windows 8 from any other version of Windows.

That is great news for a lot of people, but I have better news. You don’t need to wait, you can add a Start Menu to Windows 8 today.

Today we are announcing the release of Start Menu Reviver 2. If you would like to find out more about what is new in Start Menu Reviver 2 you can check out our blog post here.

We were blown away by the amount of positive feedback after we released the first version of Start Menu Reviver a little over a year ago.

Below is just some of the great feedback we received:

Thanks for this excellent free program, something that M$ should be putting in Win 8!Phil W

THANK YOU. You made Win 8.1 usable. Best product out there for this. Richard B

I very rarely provide any product feedback but I downloaded and installed Start Menu Reviver on a new laptop I use yesterday and it is truly a god send. Working with the Windows 8 system is a nightmare. I don’t think this product should be free…. Thanks for a great product..!Micheal M

I actually like Windows 8.1 and like the concept of a dashboard when I log in. It is cool. I didn’t really miss the old start menu, I was OK without it. HOWEVER, I decided to try your product, and I am truly impressed! It is a hands down improvement over any start menu/screen I have seen to date. Does it work on Linux too? :)David H

Your start menu looks like the way MS should have imagined it in the first place. A portal between desktop and modern interfaces with the modern tile look, with settings, desktop programs and apps alike. Genius. I wish the best for you. Thank you.Sean

I am using start menu reviver on Windows 7 and it is very good, much better than the Standard Windows Menu. This software is a must have and I highly recommend it to anyone whether they are running Windows 7 or Windows 8 platforms.Ian W

While we loved hearing the praise for Start Menu Reviver, we also listened to any criticism about the product. We took the criticism on board and we hope that people really love the changes we have made in Start Menu Reviver 2.

So what are you waiting for? Go and download it now from the Start Menu Reviver product page!

And we still want to hear your feedback! Leave us a comment below of send us feedback through our feedback page.

May 6th, Didn’t see any activity on this subject yet. I just installed the latest update to StartMenuReviver, and it disappeared from windows 8.1. The desktop shortcut simple didn’t work. I uninstalled, and reinstalled Reviver from Cnet. That worked okay until allowing it to update to the latest version. Disappeared again. Reinstalled the earlier, and reset my icons. I’ll wait for news to show up on this bug.
