Ever had a desire to delete a file and make sure that it is completely deleted with no way to recover it? Well there is good news if you are using a MacBook with a traditional hard drive (not a Solid State drive), we now have a new feature in MacReviver that allows you to permanently delete files on a Mac.
The feature is called Shredder
This is how it works:
The first thing you need to do is to open MacReviver and then go to the Shredder feature. Here you will see the Shredder home screen:
On this screen you can either click Select Items… or you can just drag the files you want to shred directly onto the the designated drop area.
Now you will see all of the items tat are about to be shredded. You will maybe notice a small drop down box at the bottom of the application. This box allows you to select the comprehensiveness of the shredding. You can choose between Quick, Recommended and Comprehensive. The Quick setting takes less time but does not perform as thorough shredding as the other two levels. The Recommended setting is a good balance between time and comprehensiveness of shredding and the Comprehensive setting takes longer but makes sure the file or files have been deleted and to never leave a trace ever again.
Once you have selected the shredding setting and the files you want to shred you are ready to shred some files! Once you have clicked the Shred button you will be asked for your computer password (required to shred the files you have selected) and the shredding will begin.
And that is it, the file or files is gone!
If you have just stumbled upon this post, be sure to download and try MacReviver for free on your Mac.
As always we would love your feedback about this feature and any others in MacReviver. Leave a comment below, we’d love to hear from you!
