Hi Max,

Here are a couple of things you can try.

1. Remove the battery and charger (power cord) from your laptop and press and hold the Power button for around 20 seconds. This should discharge any residual current inside your laptop. Note that this is like a hardware reset and clears your RAM. Once you\'ve done this, replace the battery, connect the charger/power cord and check to see if it charges properly.

2. Next, turn off your laptop, remove the battery and power it back on directly with the charger. If everything works, it would definitely indicate a problem with the battery, in which case it will need to be replaced.

3. Check your laptop\'s charging point to if it is either loose or physically affected. In either case, you will need to take your laptop to a computer shop and get it fixed or replaced.

4. If you use Samsung\'s Eco Mode or Battery Life Extender services, try turning them off completely.

Last but not the least, try using another (compatible) battery and charger, one after the other, to see if the replacement part works for you and charges up the battery.

Good luck,

James

Hi Max,

If you have plugged in your charger and still you get the notification that "without charge connected", you can try the below fixes to resolve the issue.

Fix 1: Lose the Battery
A simple way to check the integrity of the battery is to remove it entirely and try plugging in the laptop. If the laptop powers on properly, the problem was likely a bum battery

Fix 2: Check the Connector
When you plug in the laptop's power connector, the connection should be fairly solid. If it's suddenly wobbly or loose, or if the receiving socket gives when it should stay firm, the power jack may have broken inside the chassis.

Fix 3: Check Your Settings

In the Control Panel, open up the Power Options. Open the plan settings and visually check that all are properly set. Be on the lookout for incorrect settings for the battery, display, and sleep options.
For example, your battery settings may cause trouble if you have set the computer to shut down when the battery level drops too low and set the low battery level at too high a percentage.

You can also assign actions like sleep and shut down when your lid is closed or the power button is pressed. If these settings have been changed, it's easy to suspect a power malfunction even though there's no physical problem with the battery or charging cable.

The easiest way to make sure that your settings aren't causing problems is to restore the power profile to default settings.

Fix 4: Update the Drivers
  1. In the Control Panel, Open the Device Manager.
  2. Under "Batteries" you should see three items, one for the battery, another for the charger, and a third listed as "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery".
  3. Open each item, which will bring up a Properties window.
  4. Under the "Driver" tab, you'll see a button labeled "Update Driver."
  5. Go through the driver update process for all three.
  6. Once the drivers are all up to date, reboot the laptop and plug it in again.
Fix 5: Let the laptop cool
A non-charging battery can sometimes be caused by an overheating laptop.
Let the system cool down and take the time to make sure that the air vents are clean and unobstructed.

I hope this helps in fixing the problem.

Regards,
Lokesh
