PMR files are considered to be indexes of information containing edit point and all media objects which are assets to the editing project. Avida Technology is an American company capitalizing on developing multimedia editing and finishing programs. This includes managing both audio and video files. Avida is also know for developing Non-linear editing systems which makes use an edited copy of the digital source rather than re-arranging the original file. The program first analyzes the source, then creates a new edited version implementing the indicated changes including cuts, fades, ins and outs, and many more. The PMR file extension is used to ensure that the edited version is kept up-tp-date with the changes implemented in the project as it carries the index of edits made to the source. Such file can be opened and edited through Avida’s numerous editing programs.

what is a file extension?
A file extension is the set of three or four characters at the end of a filename; in this case, .pmr. File extensions tell you what type of file it is, and tell Windows what programs can open it. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically. When that program is no longer on your PC, you can sometimes get an error when you try to open the associated file.
