It is used in drawing many kinds of diagrams and has special features helping you create diagrams for entity relationship, UML, flowcharts, networks and many more. A modular design is created in various shape packages to aid you in drawing diagrams, and allows you to freely use symbols and connectors. Through writing simple XML files, Dia add supports using a subset of SVG in drawing new shapes. You can also load and save your diagrams into XML format, export diagrams in various formats like EPS, WMF, SVG, XFIG, VDX, JPEG, CGM, DXF and PNG. You can also print the diagrams for it uses a controlled CSDI like GIMP and Inkscape. Dia runs with Unix-like, Windows and Mac OS.
