The grammar and spell checker applets of these programs locate the associated user word list file to reference the data stored in the file in order to provide the user with access to the grammar and spell checking functionalities integrated into these supported programs. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically.
