Spb2xml is a utility used in converting SPB files or SimProp Binary files to XML. It decompiles SimProp Binary files and produces a source for XML that can be read and reformed. SPB file is a format integrated in Microsoft Flight Simulator X; it stores various data that can be compiled using different XML files. XML or Extensible Markup Language on the other hand is a string of characters made up of legal Unicode characters. The markup is analyzed by the processor then transfers the structured data into an application. SPB files are assembled with the help of simpropcompiler.exe and this tool can reverse that task. Spb2xml decompiles the SPB file and extracts the original XML document. Users have to be conversant in entering command lines and familiar in DOS style command line formats to make this utility to work.
