Here’s an easy way to add Google searches to the Start Menu in Windows 7. Note that this tip doesn’t work in Windows 7 Home Premium, but only Ultimate or Enterprise.

  • Click Start, and type gpedit.msc in the box and press Enter.
  • Click User Configuration, then Administrative Templates, then Start Menu and Taskbar.
  • Double-click Add Search Internet Link to Start Menu. Click Enabled, then OK. Close this window.

Now, when you search from the Start menu, you’ll be able to click Search the Internet. Windows will open your default browser and search in your default search engine.
